The Health and Social Care course is a NCFE CACHE Level 3 Certificate in Health and Social Care. The course looks at a variety of interesting subjects such as; the role of the health and social care practitioner in meeting individuals’ needs through inclusive practice, theories of human growth and development, the role and responsibilities of the health and social care practitioner in relation to safeguarding individuals and functions of national and local health and social care provision. This course is the equivalent of one A-level. The course is a combination of both internally and externally assessed modules. The classes will be taught in an interactive way in which pupils will be encouraged to research topics and discuss them within the classroom. The work placement is a useful way for students to see real life work in the sector. The course leaders will work with students to find a suitable placement and the students will complete 75 hours working there as part of the qualification, possible work placements include, nursing homes and nurseries. In combination with other vocational courses or A levels, Health and Social Level 3 can lead to study at University on a range of courses. Further a degree in Health and Social care could lead to a career with the Local Authority, NHS or multi-agency teams working with children, young people and adults.
