What the college says

The focus of this course is to explore how artists respond to a wide range of subjects and to discover ways of expressing our own reactions, thoughts, and feelings through art. The course is held at the Hastings Contemporary, where the exhibitions and collections will provide inspiration for creative exploration.Using a variety of 2D and 3D materials, including pens, pastels, charcoal, paint, collage, and cardboard, we will experiment with different genres and themes. Activities will include drawing, painting, collage, zine-making, small-scale sculpture, phone photography, and printmaking, encouraging creativity, experimentation, and the development of personal artistic expression. Throughout the course, learners will draw inspiration from the artworks on display at the gallery, using them as a starting point to develop their own ideas and artistic responses.
