This qualification is ideal for mature learners who are interested in the hairdressing industry, allowing them to learn, develop and practice the skills required for progression in this field. This level 2 certificate contains a limited number of guided learning hours and contains less units to complete, which allow students to progress on to other hairdressing courses. Progression from this course would be on to the level 3 Diploma in Hairdressing.
What you need to get on
* Interview * Two GCSEs at grade D or above, both must be Maths and English or Adult literacy and adult numeracy level 1, or an appropriate Level 1 hairdressing qualification. * Please note: Before starting this course, you will need to purchase your own equipment in the form of a hairdressing kit, which can be purchased at an additional cost. This is separate to the cost of course fees.
How you are assessed
Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
