This course is for those wishing to pursue a career within a variety of specialised fields including TV and Film, Fashion, Photography, Special Effects, Make-up and Stage.
What you need to get on
You will need: 4 GCSEs at Grade 3 (D) or above, including English and a creative subject. Or: A level 1 qualification in hairdressing and/or beauty therapy Or: A Level 2 Principal Learning Diploma Mature students without formal qualifications are welcomed provided they demonstrate sufficient interest in the subject. You will be required to successfully pass an interview with a demonstration of enthusiasm and commitment towards the subject area and bring examples of craft and art work.
How you are assessed
Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
