Graphic Design is the communication of information and ideas by visual means. The critical elements for a graphic designer are the successful communication of a message through the organisation of words and images. This A Level is a largely practical course concerned with visual communication skills and will enable you to develop creative and innovative ways of expressing personal design concepts.

What you need to get on

Five GCSEs grade 9-4 and a satisfactory school reference.Including English Language at grade 4, maths at grade 4 and Art at grade 4 or a relevant subject as a minimum. A suitable portfolio will be required. Students who do not have a GCSE (or equivalent) in Art and Design or Textiles will be considered on the basis of a portfolio review.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
