If you study Geography you will have a keen interest in understanding how over 7 billion people can survive on a planet with a limited supply of space, water, energy and food. How can we become more energy secure, how big a problem is climate change, is there enough water for us all, will technology come to the rescue, will people kill over resources, where will we all live, will you survive?

What you need to get on

A good grounding in Geography of a 6 grade or above but any student with a 6 grade or above in a Humanities subject and a passion for Geography would be suited by this course. It is also required that you have gained a GCSE grade 6 or above English. During the course you will need to be able to communicate effectively and research information from a variety of sources. You will be expected to develop good essay writing skills, using case studies to support your opinions and those of others. There is also a fieldwork requirement involving a residential trip which all students are expected to attend and a subsequent Independent Investigation worth 20% of the overall grade.
