Studying Geography on local, national and global scales will enable you to engage critically with real world issues and develop a deeper understanding of the diverse issues the world faces in the 21st Century. It will challenge your perceptions and stimulate your investigative and analytical skills. Students will gain vital geographical, fieldwork and life skills including awareness of different attitudes and values, decision-making, and data analysis. The Independent Investigation is a great opportunity for students to investigate an area of Geography that interests them. The department aims to inspire a love of Geography by drawing on issues that are contemporary and relevant to a student’s own experiences. There is no better time to study Geography!
What you need to get on
A minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade 6 with at least grade 4 in English and Mathematics. You should also have grade 5 or above in GCSE Geography.
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.

The A-level-equivalent step, and what universities and employers ask for.
