What the college says
The department follows the new AQA Geography A Level specification. During Year 12, you will learn the physical geography topics and options. These include the water and carbon cycles, coastal systems and landscapes and tectonic and atmospheric hazards. Fieldwork is completed in the Summer Term of Year 12, with an individual investigation of between 3,000-4,000 words completed and submitted to the examination board. During Year 13, the human geography topics and options will be studied. These include global systems and governance, changing urban places and population and the environment.

Minimum five 9-4 grades at GCSE to include grade 6 in GCSE Geography
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
What this level means
The A-level-equivalent step, and what universities and employers ask for.
