Geography provides an excellent link between Arts and Science subjects. Physical and human units are studied but both have a distinctive people-environment approach. Geographical skills are developed through enquiry work and local fieldwork. What you will do: • Increase awareness of environmental problems • Increase awareness of local geographical issues • Take part in fieldwork • Look at how decisions are made about the use and management of resources and environments • Focus on current major global issues • Examine the strength and political/social implications of people's attachment to 'place'. Future prospects: • Environmental Management • Travel and Tourism • Town and Country Planning • Geology, Hydrology, Meteorology • Journalism • Landscape Architecture • Cartography.

What you need to get on

Grade 6 or above, GCSE Geography (if taken) or Grade 6 or above in any other Humanities subject (eg GCSE History, GCSE EP) only if Geography has not been studied at GCSE
