This course will guide you through basic maths skills. While studying GCSE mathematics you will be expected to: Use mathematical knowledge and skills to solve problems; Use logic and reason to help solve problems; Break down problems into small steps; Use the mathematics that you learn to solve problems that might occur in real life; Learn how to use a calculator to good effect. The course follows the AQA Modular Specification B at foundation level. GCSE Mathematics covers a wide range of basic mathematical knowledge and skills grouped into four areas: Number and Algebra; Shape, Space and Measure; Data Handling; Using and Applying Mathematics. The qualification you will receive is a GCSE Mathematics. GCSE Mathematics is an important foundation for many other courses. A lot of jobs and careers ask for GCSE Mathematics (usually grade C) including teaching, engineering, computing, architecture and medicine.
