You will read a variety of texts, gaining knowledge and understanding that can be applied to reading and writing for work and study. You will develop the skills and confidence to give formal presentations and speak in a group. You will work towards achieving a Level 1 Functional Skills qualification.

What you need to get on

You must be fluent in spoken English. You will have been born and raised in an English-speaking country or studied in English. All new students need to take an assessment before they can enrol. Assessment dates are updated regularly on our website.

How you are assessed

Entry level and Level 1 study, English and maths retakes, and supported programmes.
