What the college says
Product Design is a creative and thought-provoking qualification that will equip students with the practical skills, theoretical knowledge and confidence to succeed in a wide range of careers, especially those within the Design and Engineering sectors. By investigating historical, social, cultural, environmental and economic influences on design as well as taking advantage of opportunities to make physical prototypes, pupils will gain a real understanding of what it means to be a designer. Using state of the art CADCAM pupils will leave not only with a respected qualification, but with experience of using industry standard software and equipment that is highly sought after by higher education and employers alike.
What you need to get on
Minimum seven passes at grades 5-9, including at least grades 6 in English and Mathematics. In order to study a subject at A-level a student must have achieved at least a grade 7 at GCSE in that subject In order to study further Mathematics, a student must have achieved at least a grade 8 in Mathematics at GCSE level

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
