Awarding Body : OCR In the first year students will study two units: The legal system & criminal law and law making & the law of tort. In the legal system, students will be introduced to the nature of law and will study: civil courts and other methods of dispute resolution, criminal courts and lay people, legal personnel and access to justice. In criminal law they will study: general elements of criminal liability and non-fatal offences against the person. In law making students will study: parliamentary law making, delegated legislation, statutory interpretation, judicial precedent, law reform and EU law. In the law of tort they will study: rules, liability in negligence, occupiers’ liability and remedies. In the second year students will study the content mentioned above together with 2 further units which are the nature of law and human rights.

What you need to get on

General Requirements : 6 grade 5-9 GCSE passes including 5 or higher English Lang AND Maths Additional or Specific Requirements : Grade 5 or above in GCSE English Language or Grade 5 or above in a humanity

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
