Studying Philosophy can help you to be more open-minded as you will be encouraged to look at the world from different perspectives. It can also help develop your critical thinking skills as the content encourages you to investigate profound questions about existence.

What you need to get on

To study Philosophy at A Level, students must achieve a Grade 6 or above in GCSE English to enable them to access the complex writing style and texts used. Students must also achieve a Grade 5 or above in GCSE Ethics, if studied.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
