Students will study religious perspectives on philosophical and ethical concepts such as miracles, life after death, conscience, evil and suffering, free will and moral responsibility, and the challenge from science. Students will also encounter and critique the ideas of key philosophers such as Thomas Aquinas, Jeremy Bentham and Immanuel Kant. Students will also question the nature of religion itself, its purpose and function in society and relate this to key ethical issues. Throughout your studies you will explore the relationship between philosophy, ethics and religion, assessing the extent to which they support each other.
