Religious Studies is for those who enjoy learning and who are interested in exploring and challenging ideas. Lessons in Religious Studies are varied and include active learning, discussion, group work, independent work, reading and essay writing. The study of Theology, Philosophy and Ethics helps students to think logically and clearly about issues that affect the whole of life. What skills do I need to be successful on this course? An inquisitive mind, an interest in life’s big questions and ability to communicate effective both in the written and verbal form.

What you need to get on

Students should have achieved at least grade 5 in Religious Studies and grade 5 in English Language and Literature; or if Religious Studies has not been taken, grade 5 in English Language and Literature and a grade 5 in one other subject that requires extended writing e.g. History.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
