This course is for students who want to continue studying physics after GCSE. You'll already be familiar with some of the topics like forces and electricity, but the A level will give you the chance to study these and some new ones, in much greater depth. You might be choosing physics because you're headed for a scientific career, though it will give you transferable skills that can be used in a wide range of non-scientific careers too. To study Physics A level, you'll need a keen interest in science and good maths skills.

What you need to get on

Students will be offered a place at St. Wilfrid's sixth form on the proviso that they will meet the following criteria; - at least 5 9-4 grades including English and Mathematics - a minimum of grade 6 at the subject they wish to study - a minimum of merit in the vocational subject they wish to study

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
