There is a heavy emphasis on practical work and problem solving in physics lessons. Students have access to an online text book to support each module and to help with their research and homework. The Physics Department is well equipped and places considerable emphasis on practical work which is assessed as part of the Practical Endorsement grade that will be shown on the A level certificate.

What you need to get on

It is generally recommended that applicants for this course achieve grade 7 in GCSE Physics / Science and Additional Science. A GCSE grade 6 or higher in GCSE Maths is also a requirement. Although helpful, it is not essential to take AS level Mathematics to be successful in Physics.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
