This course is for students who want to continue studying physics after GCSE. You'll already be familiar with some of the topics but the A level will give you the chance to study these and some new ones, in much greater depth. Physics develops your problem solving and analytical skills. Physicists investigate topics that range from properties of the most fundamental elementary particles to astrophysical phenomena that may lead to understanding the origin of the universe. Do you want to investigate the limits of space, the beginning of time and everything in between? How about understanding how the technology around you works? Want to save the planet or maybe just help people get better when they are ill? Whatever career you follow, the knowledge and skills you gain by studying Physics will be invaluable. Physics trains your brain to think beyond boundaries.

What you need to get on

Minimum grade 6 in GCSE Physics or 6+6 in Combined Science. Grade 5 in Maths is also required.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
