Music is a broad and diverse subject that develops a wide range of skills. Students will perform on their chosen instrument and compose in a range of styles to suit their strengths and interests. The current specification also allows the study of traditional music skills with more contemporary popular idioms

What you need to get on

5 GCSE at grade 4+. Students must be able to play at least one instrument to grade 5 or higher and will be expected to become fully involved in the wide range of extracurricular music activities within the department.

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
