What the college says

Music allows students to be curious and explore a variety of genres of music and to learn about pieces of music which may be outside their own personal interest. It gives a broad and balanced subject knowledge and is the perfect course in preparation for studying Music further at degree level. We offer a course which allows students to develop all areas of their musical skills. We encourage and nurture their performance skills, giving opportunities to perform as a soloist and as part of a group. We encourage creativity through the development of ideas in composition and harmony, ensuring students can compose in a style of their interest whilst developing skills. The smaller group sizes ensure there is personalisation in teaching, whilst also allowing students to work independently using our rehearsal spaces. Music shows students have commitment and dexterity and this can support or compliment a variety of other subjects and add to a strong application to university.
