Maths A-Level is ideal for logical, determined problem-solvers who enjoy manipulating numbers and tackling abstract challenges. As a vital facilitating subject, it is essential for students progressing to university or careers in engineering, computer science, physics, finance, and data science. Students will build deep analytical reasoning and technical fluency across pure mathematics, statistics, and mechanics. They will master calculus, trigonometric identities, and algebraic proof while developing practical skills in statistical hypothesis testing and physical modeling. Ultimately, they will gain the confidence to construct rigorous arguments and solve complex, real-world problems.

What you need to get on

For all Sixth Form courses, students must have five GCSE (or equivalent) passes at Grades 9-4. For this course this must include Mathematics at a Grade 6 or above and English Language/Literature at a Grade 4 or above.

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
