GCE A Level in History
at Ark Putney Academy, London · school or sixth form
What the college says
Why is History important? History is more than just learning about the past. It is about understanding the world that we live in today, our culture and values, and why things are the way they are. At A-Level the course will cover a breadth of topics and time periods, as well as a mixture of national and global history – all of the topics we cover still have significant relevance in the world today. In addition, History will equip you with the skills needed to be successful in any workplace; the confidence to articulate a thought out and supported view, skills of enquiry and reaching judgements, selection of relevant material and the ability to write well-constructed articles/policies/arguments.
