Those students with an interest in the world around them will find the geography curriculum an interesting and engaging subject. You will study both the physical structure of the Earth and about the human race and how they are affecting the environment, past present and future. You will study a wide range of current global issues such as globalisation, development, tectonic hazards, climate change, biodiversity and wind changing cities, leisure and tourism. You will also develop valuable research and investigation skills through fieldwork, which forms an integral part of the A level scheme of work. You will be assessed through external examinations at the end of the academic year. You will complete an individual investigation, which must include data collected in the field. The individual investigation must be based on a question or issue defined and developed by you relating to any part of the specification content.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
