The units that students will study are: Coastal Landscapes Changing Places Water and Carbon cycle Global Governance Tectonics Energy Ecosystems Development As part of your course students are expected to undertake a minimum of 4 days of fieldwork. Students are then able to select their own research title, based on the fieldwork that they enjoyed the most and complete a piece of coursework based on their title. This accounts for 20%of the overall A-level qualification. In previous years students have been on fieldtrips to Hothersall Lodge, Blencathra in the Lake District and Snowdonia, Wales.

What you need to get on

5 GCSE or equivalent pass at grade 4 or higher (at least one of which is in Maths or English) GCSE Geography Grade 4 or above is preferable GCSE in English and Mathematics -Grade 4 An interest in the environment and current global issues is essential

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
