GCE A Level in Geography
at Kesgrave High School, Ipswich · school or sixth form
What the college says
AQA’s A Level in Geography will excite the mind, challenge perceptions and stimulate investigative and analytical skills. It aims to encourage learners to develop a range of essential skills for Higher Education and the world of work through content which is relevant to any citizen of the planet in the 21st century. Through exciting topics learners will continue to explore the nature of physical and human geography with an equal amount of content in each as well as a field work investigation contributing 20%. Fieldwork and exposure to different places is a fundamental element of A-Level Geography - there's numerous local fieldwork investigations and, where possible, we try to organise a trip abroad to provide you with a memorable and enriching educational experience that enhances your understanding of geographical concepts, fosters personal growth, and inspires a lifelong appreciation for the natural world. For example, previous trips abroad have included Iceland to look at the volcanic features and Sicily with a trip up (an erupting) Mount Etna.
