GCE A Level in Geography
at Bacup and Rawtenstall Grammar School · school or sixth form
What the college says
This course is for students who want to continue studying geography after GCSE. There has never been a better or more important time to study A Level Geography. Contemporary geography is a subject which explores the relationship between human populations and their physical environment at a variety of scales from the local to the global. With growing interest in issues such as climate change, migration, environmental degradation and social cohesion, geography is one of the most relevant courses you could choose to study. It is also a robust academic subject which is well-regarded by universities and employers. Geography is recognised as both a science and as a humanities subject which means it opens many doors and closes none, whilst providing an excellent bridge between diverse subject choices. For some geography related careers, it's good to have studied geography in combination with subjects like maths, chemistry, physics or biology.
