The ability to communicate in a foreign language is a real asset in our increasingly global world. Studying French at A-Level will give you the opportunity to pursue your studies at a higher level at university or to use the skills you acquire to enhance your CV and employment prospects in a range of careers. You will improve all the language skills of listening, speaking, reading, writing and translating through a variety of classroom-based and independent learning activities, whilst acquiring a thorough understanding of French grammar.

What you need to get on

To join the Sixth Form there is an entry criteria of five standard passes at GCSE (at least a Grade 4). This must include at least a Grade 4 in English Language and Maths at GCSE. Students will need to gain at least a Grade 4 in the subjects they would like to study at A Level. French Grade 7 or above in French at GCSE. A student with a Grade 6 will be considered on an individual basis.
