What the college says

French is spoken by 74 million people across the world, so being able to speak French can provide you with travel and work opportunities. In fact, according to the British Councils 2017 report Languages for the Future, in order for the UK to succeed post-Brexit, international awareness and skills such as the ability to connect with people globally beyond English have become more vital than ever. However, the UK is currently facing a languages deficit. In the same report, French was identified as one of the top five languages for the UKs prosperity post-Brexit, based on extensive analysis of economic, geopolitical, cultural and educational factors. With a projected 750 million speakers by 2050, being able to speak the French language is a powerful skill to have.
