Why study this subject? We live in a world where films are used to bring people together for shared experiences, retell historical events and create new worlds. Through film studies, students will gain a deeper understanding of how film works as a medium of representation and as an aesthetic medium.

What you need to get on

STS Sixth Form offers a broad range of A Level and Applied general qualifications that will prepare you for university or employment. To access this route, you will need to have at least 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English and Maths; how Additional Entry Requirements Grade 5 or above in GCSE English and/or Film and Media.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
