Film Studies is designed to encourage broader cultural and historical perspectives in a more academic way. It reinforces the relationship between academic theory and practice through film production and evaluation and allows students to engage in practical work in the production of their own film. It encourages critical engagement, personal responses and key contextual understanding (e.g. cultural, social, political, historical and technological) through a range of diverse films across the major genres.
