English Literature is a two-year course for those who love reading and enjoy immersing themselves in poetry and drama as well as the novel. Reading for pleasure is a key charactersitic of a successful Literature student. You will engage with a variety of texts ranging from Chaucer to contemporary post-1990 fiction and be encouraged to share your opinions and make informed judgements about those texts. Literature can be taken as a stand alone course or as a complement to other arts-based subjects.
