Are you eager to develop your writing style? Inspired and intrigued by the use of language and its application in all walks of life? A Level English Language is ideal for anyone with a love of linguistics! Throughout this course, you will be encouraged to think about and use language in a way you may have never used it before. From the origins of English, to language acquisition. From phonetics to Shakespeare, all the way through to modern language in the media and its further implications. You will dissect it all, whilst harnessing and developing your own style at the same time.
What you need to get on
3 GCSE passes at a minimum of Grade 4 and 2 at Grade 5, which must include English Language or Literature and Maths at Grade 4.
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
What this level means
The A-level-equivalent step, and what universities and employers ask for.
