This two year course is a continuation of GCSE English Language and is appropriate if you have a real love of language analysis. It develops your understanding of the concepts and methods appropriate for the analysis and study of language. You will explore data and examples of language in use; engage creatively and critically with a varied programme for the study of English; develop your skills as producers and interpreters of language whilst independently investigating language in use.
What you need to get on
To study English Language you must have achieved a grade 6, or higher, in both English Language and English Literature at GCSE.
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
