The English language A Level course offers students the opportunity to explore the use of English in a range of real-life contexts, investigating how meanings are created. Students will explore a range of texts: spoken, written and multimodal. During this course students will gain a much clearer knowledge and understanding of language as a dynamic and vital form of communication. You can also expect to be inspired by language and have the opportunity to create and investigate areas of your interest.

What you need to get on

A minimum of 5 GCSEs, grades 4 - 9 (A* - C) including grade 5 in English Language.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.

The A-level-equivalent step, and what universities and employers ask for.
