Depending on the career path you want to take in the future, economics fits particularly well with other social science subjects, with history, geography, but equally as well with business related subjects. It will give you a great set of transferable skills frequently sought by employers including numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills as well as commercial awareness: an essential requirement for business.

What you need to get on

Students wishing to study ‘A’ levels will need to have achieved a GCSE grade of 4 in both English and Mathematics; as well as 3 other GCSE passes at Grade 4 or higher. In addition you will need Grade 6 in GCSE Mathematics PLUS Grade 5 in GCSE English Language

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
