What the college says
You do not need to aspire to be an actor or work in the theatre industry to take Drama and Theatre Studies at A Level. The skills that you will gain, such as; organisation, creative thinking and working as a team under pressure, will all be instrumental to any employer. Contrary to some beliefs, an A Level in Drama and Theatre Studies is often a gateway to universities and the skills developed over the course are invaluable in the workplace.
What you need to get on
You should have a minimum of five GCSEs grade 9-5 or equivalent including grade 6 in Drama or English Literature. You also need to be fully committed: your spare time will be called upon for rehearsals. Working as a team member is essential – you must be able to work with anyone!
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
