The Drama and Theatre course covers a wide range of skills and understanding in dramatic performance and the study of live theatre. It introduces students to the work of drama performance, direction, design and devising covered at GCSE. Analysis and Evaluation of live theatre is a key skill which will inform all the work students do, as well as contributing to one of the written exam papers. Students have the freedom to approach the NEA units from a ‘performer’ perspective or a ‘design’ perspective, or a combination of the two across both units.

What you need to get on

Grade 6 in GCSE Drama OR Grade 6 in English Literature, plus an interest in Drama and Theatre demonstrated by involvement in a dramatic production in or out of school, or sustained involvement in a drama class or club in or out of school.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
