Product Design involves learning about the design and manufacture of a range of products made from a wide variety of materials. It is a challenging course that uses new technology and encourages students to work creatively. Students will be allowed to experience what it is like to work on real life design projects and develop a product for a client.

What you need to get on

Grade 6 GCSE in Design and Technology or Grade 6 in Art will be an advantage but if you have not studied the subject before you will be taken through the skills you need and help you develop them throughout the course. Satisfactory academic and attitudinal references are also required. Students will be considered on an individual basis where they can evidence high achievement at a practical level, even if they have not taken the subject at GCSE.

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
