A Level Drama and Theatre is a creative and challenging course that allows students to explore a wide range of practical and theoretical skills. Lessons will cover devised, scripted, and written elements of theatre. Students will explore three set texts from the perspective of an actor, director and designer, as well as the historical, social and cultural context of the plays. Students will also engage with a variety of theatre practitioners, and learn how to apply these methods to their own devised work, as well as scripted performances. Live Theatre is an integral part of the course and theatre trips will be organised regularly. Students will study drama through the following components: • Theatre Workshop • Text in Action • Text in Performance Students can be assessed as actors or as technical candidates.

GCSE Drama and English grade 5 with proven participation in performing arts activities

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
