What the college says
The majority of the course is spent covering the theory aspects of Computer Science requiring students to have motivation and strong academic enthusiasm. A lot of time will be spent preparing students for their exams and students are regularly tested and given feedback. The course provides an ideal foundation for learners who want to pursue Computer Science or ICT at undergraduate degree level or for students who wish to be employed in the Computer Science industry.
What you need to get on
Grade 6 or above in GCSE Computing, Grade 6 in GCSE Mathematics and Advanced programming skills in at least 1 programming language (eg Python, C Family). Together with satisfactory attitudinal and academic references, the ability to solve complex computational problems and the ability to show resilience.
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
