Business Studies is a challenging, relevant and rewarding subject. The course investigates the dynamic external environment within which businesses operate, and the effect this can have upon decision-making within a business. Topical issues that can generate change for business organisations are studied (and the ways in which businesses respond to these issues). Skills developed in Business Studies include: carrying out calculations, interpreting and analysis data, applying knowledge to unfamiliar situations, developing arguments and making judgements and decisions. An A Level in Business Studies provides a firm foundation for further study and employment. It can lead on to a variety of degree courses at university, such as Accountancy and Economics, and is a good supporting subject for a variety of other degree courses. A Business Studies qualification prepares students for a career in business, which may stretch across any sector or industry.
What you need to get on
To study A Levels at North Chadderton you must have achieved a minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade A""'-C. Two of these must include GCSE Maths and English Language. A good school reference, attendance and behaviour record are also required, as is a positive interview There is no expectation that students will have studied Business Studies at GCSE.
