What the college says

This course is ideal for students with a passion for photography who want to develop both their creative vision and technical expertise. It suits those interested in areas such as digital photography, photojournalism, fashion, advertising, fine art photography and visual storytelling. Learners explore photographic techniques, image editing, composition and the work of influential photographers, while developing their ability to communicate ideas through images. The course encourages experimentation, critical analysis and independent project work, helping students build a strong portfolio and prepare for further study or careers in photography, media, design and other creative industries.

What you need to get on

For all Sixth Form courses, students must have five GCSE (or equivalent) passes at Grades 9-4, which must include Mathematics and English Language/Literature at a Grade 4 or above. A Grade 4 in Art is desirable but not essential (if taken at GCSE). If no previous creative experience, students will need to show the Head of Subject a sample of their photography work they have done recently.
