What the college says

In Year 12, pupils are required to produce a Coursework Portfolio which should contain a selection of thoughtfully presented work including at least ONE extended collection of work, or project. This project should be based on an idea, concept, theme or issue which demonstrates the candidate’s ability to sustain and realise their ideas. Assessment is based on this “Portfolio” plus an externally set project, or practical exam. In Year 13, pupils will develop their portfolio work further, producing another practical and personal investigation which is supported by 3,000 words to show knowledge and understanding of context, and which complements their practical work. Assessment is based on “Portfolio” work plus the externally set project. All work is marked internally and moderated externally. You will need to have a genuine interest in Art, be resourceful and have a willingness to explore new approaches and challenge your current working practice.
