What the college says
You will extend your algebraic skills and develop knowledge of coordinate geometry including equations of lines, circles and quadratics, which leads to the study of calculus. Calculus is split into two topics: differentiation and integration; these important ideas are used extensively in mathematics, science, engineering and many other applications at university. You will also be introduced to the binomial theorem and trigonometric, exponential and logarithmic functions, and will study arithmetic and geometric series. You will continue to develop your understanding of differentiation and integration to include the formation and solution of differential equations. You will also further your knowledge of co-ordinate geometery, trigonometry and logarithms, whilst being introduced to new topics such as volumes of revolution and exponential growth and decay.
