Further Mathematics is the perfect choice if you are one of the lucky people who gets great pleasure from solving complicated problems and extending ideas to their logical conclusion. You will need to be rigorous in your logic, clear in your communication and resilient in the face of new and often counter-intuitive ideas. You will develop a fluency in a range of diverse and highly connected advanced mathematical concepts. Most importantly, you will be able to dazzle friends and strangers at parties with your esoteric wisdom and notation.

What you need to get on

Prospective Further Mathematics students are required to have at least a Grade 7 in Mathematics at GCSE, plus at least 4 GCSEs at Grade 6 or above.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
