What you need to get on
Aged 19 or over. Live in North East Combined Authority area (Newcastle, Durham, Sunderland, North Tyneside, South Tyneside, Northumberland). Unemployed and receiving benefits; OR economically inactive (e.g. caring responsibilities or health reasons); OR employed but earning below £30,000 gross annually before deductions.. Income: Below £30,000 gross annually (if employed). Must have the right to work and study in the UK. Must commit to 12-week programme.
How you are assessed
Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
