The purpose of the Functional Skills Mathematics Level 2 qualification is to demonstrate both mathematical skills at the appropriate level and the ability to apply mathematical thinking effectively to solve problems successfully in the workplace and in other real life situations.

A diagnosed learning need at this level from assessments and no previous qualifications in this area at the same/or higher level

How you are assessed

Entry level and Level 1 study, English and maths retakes, and supported programmes.

What this level means

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
