What the college says

The course is for adults who want to develop their English skills and gain an Level 2 Functional Skills English qualification, complete a vocational qualification, apply to university (GCSE equivalent) or simply improve their job prospects.

What you need to get on

You will need to complete an English initial assessment and an English diagnostic assessment before registration on the course. You must have achieved a level 1 Functional Skills qualification in English prior to the course or score at working towards level 2 in your initial assessment.

How you are assessed

Entry level and Level 1 study, English and maths retakes, and supported programmes.

What this level means

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
