This course equips you with the skills you need to operate confidently, effectively and independently; whether that be at work, or in your everyday life. The Level 1 Award is a nationally recognised civilian qualification, and the level is equivalent to GCSE grades D - G. By achieving your Functional Skills English Level 1 you will: Improve your job prospects for future employment This course will develop and improve your skills in: Reading – you will read and understand a range of texts. Writing – you will write a range of texts to communicate information, ideas and opinions using formats and styles suitable for their purpose and audience. Speaking, Listening and Communication – you will take full part in formal and informal discussions and exchanges that include unfamiliar subjects.

Entry level and Level 1 study, English and maths retakes, and supported programmes.
